I prefer to not have to join a gym to attend them so a boxing studio would be nice.

I have never boxed before and have always wanted to. I am too intimidated to walk into a gym where the only clients are incredibly in-shape fit fighters. Are there any instructors/gyms where not-so-young women can take lessons?

I sure hope so…I think its great that you want self-defense lessons. And its never to late to learn.I show my mom some tricks and kicks all the time. And she says"Who the hell do you think taught you how to fight fool?"She is so funny.I wish i owned a gym.Id make it for women/men welcome of course.I love boxing and martial arts.its so challenging. And they weren’t always in shape. That reminds me of a person saying when i straighten up my act…i’ll go to church and get saved.Come as you are…we will whip you into shape.Good luck with finding one near you.

Are there any free boxing classes for teens in NYC ?

I wanna know if there’s any free boxing classes for teen in NYC? ;i really wanna know cause i wanna start boxing, just for fun and to keep active (: Thank You

It’s not free, but if you want quality instruction, I would recommend checking out Gleason’s Gym in Brooklyn, New York. Gleason’s trains amateur boxers, pro boxers, and pro wrestlers. If you want to learn, go with the best.

If you want free boxing lessons, I would start by checking the YMCA, or some cities even have their own police boxing leagues that are offered to the public to keep kids off the streets and away from gangs and/or drugs. Some churches also offer boxing.

are there any classes i can take that teaches me how to fight like boxing but you dont get in the ring?

Just join a boxing club and tell them you don’t want to get in the ring. A lot of people just do boxing for the fitness so you won’t be alone.
