Why won’t my mother let me take my 5-year-old nephew to boxing training?

I’m an amateur cage fighter/boxer. I was bullied ferociously in Elementary school. My dad was very absent during my childhood, I was only around my mother and older sisters. For 6 years I endured constantly being punched, kicked, and having my nose broken. I used to get home full of bruises because of the rocks the other kids would throw at me, I used to get contusions because sometimes the rocks would hit me on the head, on winters, sometimes I would burn up in fever because the other kids would throw me into big puddles of cold water.

My mother NEVER let me enroll into a self-defense class. It was only until I turned 18 that I got into karate training, then into boxing training, then into krav maga training, then into jiu jitsu training, then into muay thai training. Eventually I became an amateur boxer and cage fighter. I have gotten paid for some fights, but I’m not a pro.

My nephew just turned 5 years old, I want to take him to the boxing gym to teach him how to box before he enrolls in Elementary. I have some friends who are taking their boys to learn boxing as soon as 3 years old. My sister was no problem with me teaching my nephew boxing, but my mother is making a HUGE scandal, and threatened to stop babysitting my nephew if I take him boxing.

My mother and sisters are very aware at the way I was physcially abused in Elementary school. My mother NEVER let metake self-defense training, and now she doesn’t want my nephew to get any either.

What can I do?

There has been a lot of stories of kids commiting suicide as a result of bullying. All you need to do is show her those articles and if that doens’t change her mind, then do it behind her back. You need to get this kid in the boxing gym. Mine is 7 and he’s training with me. I try not to overwhelm him, so I take him once a week and make it fun.

I wan’t to take boxing Classes?

I am 14 years old. I feel out of shape and I sort of want to take boxing classes. I just wan’t to ask what should I expect? Do I train by myself or with other kids all at once? Do I get my own coach and trainer or is it everyones. Do I pick out my one schedule of when I want to box or my coach does? What do you do in Boxing classes, Like what should I expect? Lastly, How does it all work just in general?

Thank You so much.

just sign up for lessons under the supervision of a good reputable coach that is certified with US Amateur boxing so you don’t become a punching bag. Aside from that try to run about 3 times a week and you will get better.

How Much Is Royal Mail 1st Class (If 1st Class "Standard" Is Costing £3.50)?

I brought something of Ebay 2 boxes of Chapsticks & the invoice is for 1st class "Standard" delivery for £3.50 so I want to know how much would it cost if it was Royal Mail 1st Class Next Day Delivery

Thank you. Its with-in the UK posting from – to Apx 100Miles

RM Postie

There is no service called Royal Mail 1st Class Next day delivery – 1st class is usually delivered within 1 – 3 business days (93% next working day) but its not a guaranteed service.

You may be thinking of Special Delivery which is guaranteed and that would cost £6.70 to £9.25 based on the assumption that your parcel weighs under 1Kg and the amount of cover you want £500 – £2000)

If you wanted a Saturday delivery that would cost £8.95 to £11.50.

These figures are from memory so check for current up to date ones.

I want to learn how to box or learn karate for self protection. I already kind of know how to fight but I would like to learn more and become more experienced. Are there and good boxing or karate classes in San Jose that aren’t really expensive?

This is where Cain Velasquez trains http://www.akakickbox.com/

VAT help needed – uk shop online?

November 10th, 2010

Hi,
If i have an on line business do i have to be VAT registered? The shop will be open for around 1 month, i will see how it goes as i am a college student and decide whether this is my future, i am aiming i will make around £2000 in total selling electronic goods such as DVD players and Digital Boxes.

Also, if i listed items with a description and then told them in the terms and conditions that these are vouchers for the products (full value of course),is this within the law or classed as false advertising?

cheers,

There are plenty of web sites (including HMRC) that publish details of VAT regulations for the small businesses = do your own research …

If you advertise an item such as ‘DVD Player’ with the explanation of the ‘voucher’ in the small print, many (if not most) buyers will still expect a package to arrive containing a DVD player.

If they get an envelope with a Voucher inside, you will get a lot of complaints (at best you get ‘negative feedback’ and demands for refunds – at worse you get closed down by the Fraud Squad :-) )

I suggest you put ‘voucher’ method in the ‘delivery’ notes, eg "DELIVERY. We send you a Voucher for the product to be collected from your local (Dixons ??) store" (or whatever). Remember – many people shop on-line because they don’t want (or can’t) go down their local High Street shops – so making a trip to the shops part of the deal will cut the number of potential buyers ..

Note also, due to the massive amount of on-line FRAUD (and things like photocopied Vouchers) you can expect few buyers and LOW PRICES (if you are going to sell via eBay, then unless you already have an account with hundreds of positive feedback, you can expect 90% of potential buyers will assume you are just another wannabee con-merchant ..)

Poll – First question: Girls to Ladies (ages 16-25), what would you do in this scenario?

November 5th, 2010

Posted by admin in boxing classes uk | 12 Comments »

A burglar has just entered you house an hour after you just came back from combat (Karate, Tae Kwon Do, or Kickboxing [Kickercise - http://www.5-elements.co.uk/kickercise-womens-kickboxing-fitness]) class. You consider that More Than Likely consider that can’t hold you own, even though he doesn’t have a gun. He has a knife. Guns or knives make a guy unattractive to girls. The only house phone is in the den, where the burglar is located. Your only weapons: You boxing gloves, kick gear, brains and skills. You could do one of the following:

Fight burglar, knock him out, then call police
Go to friend’s house and call police

SECOND QUESTION: Girls to Ladies (same ages as first Question), you found out the new guy is part of a mysterious group. You find guys in it attractive because they don’t use guns. The group is called ZAFT and is a war with another group, called OMNI Enforcer. Because neither group uses guns, drugs, alcohol, or any real negativity, police don’t find anything wrong with either group, or know each groups motive: To Destroy the other. ZAFT uses sling shots and OMNI Enforcers has started using bows and arrows for their new projects and other programs. Which would you chose?
I assumed you though GUYS (not girls) with guns were unattractive. You can shoot the burglar, if you want to.

This question is weird and too specific. :P

I would escape and call the police. Only if he chased me, would I try using martial arts.
