Can boxing train a soccer player?

I play soccer on my college team and I have been trying to prepare myself for preseason, since it requires fitness tests. I recently started taking boxing classes 4 times a week because they are so much fun. I was wondering if these classes would help me get in shape for preseason. I also have a personal trainer two times a week and run for 30 minutes before each class.

Well in order to be a good boxer you will likely be doing cardio and weights likewise in order to be a good footballer you will be doing the same. So to answer your question yes training for boxing is a great way help get you in shape for pre-season.

I live in Titusville, Fl which is not a very big town, making it hard for me to even know where to start to find a class. Im 13 and I’ve never done kickboxing before and i would like to. Making me a beginnier. Also I am on a budget so I cant afford 100 to even 50 dollars a week. Thanks.

Go to boxinggyms.com and find the state of Florida. narrow it down to your area and it will give you local gyms. Good luck.

do they offer self defense or kick boxing classes at ucla, i am looking to find info and i don’t think they do?

at my cc they offered them, so i hope they offer them at ucla (i understand that cc are for the community so that might be why they offer the classes there and not at a uni)

I’m sure that they do, UCLA is huge and has so many different types of classes. My sister who goes to Loyola Marymount in LA took a class around her school in self defense. If you can’t find one directly sponsored by UCLA just go take a local one. LA has some sketchy places and they offer tons of those classes.

By the way, nice choice of school!

kick boxing or regular boxing classes?

i need boxing or kick boxing classes for teens like 13 and older…los angeles…burbank..sherman oaks..vanuys. any of those places.. thnx

Depends on your goal, your purpose. A good martial arts school that teaches traditional karate from a Sensei who learned the art in Japan. It teaches self defense, respect, discipline, and good conditioning.

To take up boxing, go to a well known local boxing club and ask questions. They are in the yellow pages. Your local YMCA is another alternative, or even neighborhood Boys Club.

Can someone help me explain how to ship to the UK (Customs and Address)?

Well, see, I’ve finally compiled what I want to send to my friend in London, and, although I’ve read up on restrictions and instructions on how to send, I am still confused. :(

First, do I actually need to use a customs form if I have these items in the box? I believe that a customs form is required no matter what you have inside?

- tiny glass jar of origami stars (about two and a half inches in height and one inch in diameter)
- one sketch
- one handmade book of "American terms"
- one 5.25 oz bag of Ghirardelli chocolate
- one letter (sealed in an envelope)

I plan on sending a small packet package with First Class International; the box doesn’t weigh over two pounds.

I read that you don’t need get custom charges if, as quoted from the USPS site, "Gift packages of small value provided they do not contain any tobacco goods, spirits or wine; Gift packages containing only well-worn clothing (excluding garments of high value), limited quantities of foodstuffs (other than caviar), soap or consumable medical supplies." (http://pe.usps.gov/text/imm/fh_014.htm) Does "gift" only apply to commercially sent items (such as if you purchase from a website)?

What do I mark dutiable items as on the customs form 2976? They ask whether or not the contents are gifts, documents, etc.

Also, I’m not entirely sure how to input her address onto the form. Her address doesn’t have a building number (she gave me an address to send to her university), so I’m not sure how to put her address because we have the Address 1/2 structure. This is her address (which is quite generic, so it shouldn’t be too much trouble):

Lady Chapman, Residence Office
Kidderpore Avenue
London, NW3 7ST
UK

OR

Kings College London
Hampstead Campus
Kidderpore Avenye
London, NW3 7ST
UK

What part would go in Address 1, and what part in Address 2? Or would they both go into Address 1?

(Additionally, I’m assuming I would have to get customs forms for small boxes that only contain letters and one tiny glass jar with origami stars in it?)

Thank you so much to anyone who can help me and my lost self!
